Contiki Holidays, the largest tour operator for 18 to 35 year olds needs a high-energy individual to work with our executive sales staff. The job requires a proactive, enthusiastic, customer service-oriented individual to fill the position of Groups Intern. Location: Anaheim, CA.

Overall responsibility:

The Groups Intern will acquire experience in the group travel industry including tour planning, operations, marketing and sales.

Key areas of responsibility include:

• Assemble and send packets to custom group leads generated by the Group Sales Coordinator
• Research new leads for Group Sales Coordinator
• Coordinate marketing materials including customized flyers and landing pages for individual group promotions
• Create custom itineraries for custom group proposals
• Work with other Contiki offices globally to request and price custom tours
• Request space from regions for allocation blocks
• Process group payments in reservations system
• Generate and send documents to groups prior to departure

Hours/schedule/duration:

• 10-15 hours over 2-3 days per week
• Schedule flexible according to school schedule M-F 7:30am-5:30pm
• August 2008 – June 2009

Compensation/Benefits:

• 2 week USA tour (land only) upon successful completion of internship
• Quarterly incentives
• University credit as applicable

Qualifications:

• Self motivated and also works well in a team environment
• Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Outlook
• Desire to learn about the group travel sales, marketing and operations
• Works efficiently and independently to meet project deadlines
• Clearly communicates and contributes ideas
• Detail oriented and accurate
